Hi, I'm Jorge 👋
I'm a seasoned web developer with a solid eight years of professional experience under my belt. My passion? JavaScript wizardry, specializing in React, Node.js, and the entire JavaScript ecosystem. Dive into my digital world and discover the art of web development.
About Me
Curious to know my story? Here it is:
I was born on March 9th, 1990 in Banes, Cuba. At the age of 8, I immigrated to the United States in 1998. Since then, I have had the pleasure of working in various roles and positions that have helped me grow both professionally and personally.
I started my career as an assistant property manager at the Starks Building in downtown Louisville, KY, where I gained valuable experience in managing properties and working with clients. Later, I transitioned into the field of web development and worked as a web developer at TMP Worldwide, where I honed my skills in web development technologies such as HTML, SASS, and Javascript.
From there, I went on to work as a web applications developer at Louisville Metro Government and Global Payments. These experiences allowed me to expand my skillset and gain a deeper understanding of the development process, growing my skills on react, angular, typescript, webpack, and nextjs.
Currently, I work on some exciting open source projects such as DateDreamer and RestaurantGrades. DateDreamer is a calendar library that provides pre-built components for websites, making it easier for developers to provide a way of allowing the user to pick dates on a form. RestaurantGrades is a project close to my heart, which allows Louisville KY citizens to search for and see the health inspection grades and violations of their favorite restaurants.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring new technologies and working on personal projects. I'm passionate about making a positive impact on the world through technology and believe that every individual has the power to make a difference.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me. Please feel free to explore my website and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to work together on a project.
